Oregon Coast Wedding with Floral Installations by Portland Wedding Florist

A favorite wedding of mine in 2021 was for a sweet couple who had an Oregon Coast wedding at Cannon Beach. Their Oregon Coast wedding was primarily a white and green color palette, with the bride’s bouquet full of locally grown blooms in whites, blush, peaches and corals.

It’s a true gift when a couple loves flowers as much as I do, and this bride was no exception. Her love for floral made our process of working together really exciting and I loved creating custom floral designs for their Oregon Coast wedding — including two installations and a coastal inspired reception.

Peep the images below to get some floral installation inspiration along with what blooms were used in these designs.

Wedding Bouquet Inspiration for an Oregon Coast Wedding

Early September was the time of year for this Oregon Coast wedding, the perfect season for loads of locally grown flowers. Some of the local varieties included in this wedding bouquet were scented garden roses, dahlias (always a favorite for late summer!), foxglove, Japanese anemone, scabiosa and clematis vine.

Ceremony Flower Installation for an Oregon Coast Wedding

For their beachside wedding ceremony at the Oregon Coast (Cannon Beach to be exact!), the couple opted on a low-profile, semi-circle floral installation in the sand. The couple wanted the natural beauty of the coastal backdrop not to be obstructed and this ground installation was the perfect design to mix floral with the natural landscape. Designed with entirely foam-free and reusable mechanics, this flower installation for this Oregon Coast wedding included dahlias, roses, larkspur and Japanese anemones.

Boutonniere Inspiration for an Oregon Coast Wedding

We can’t forget the boutonnieres! Often an afterthought floral design for some, boutonnieres are actually some of my favorites to create. I love the little details and endless possibilities you can create for these small floral designs. The groom’s boutonniere for this Oregon Coast wedding included a peach ranunculus, spray rose, and white gomphrena for texture.

Reception Flower Installations for an Oregon Coast Wedding

Using more foam-free and reusable mechanics, a flower installation was designed on a fireplace mantle to match the colors, textures and vibe of the ceremony installation. More larkspur, roses, dahlias, foxglove and Japanese anenomes were used to create this organically designed flower installation for the couple’s Oregon Coast wedding.

Ikebana Floral Design for an Oregon Coast Wedding

Ikebana designs have become some of my favorites and they’re becoming increasingly popular in wedding floral design. Minimal but beautiful, ikebana designs were placed in various areas of this Oregon Coast wedding reception, including the welcome table and remembrance table.

Beach Inspired Reception Tables for an Oregon Coast Wedding

Bringing the seaside indoors! The bride and her family collected loads of shells to be placed and styled down the length of the reception tables. Along with the varying textured and sized shells, dried amaranthus was tucked between, placed on top of a sheer indigo table runner to tie the reception space in with their coastal location and ceremony.
